Welcome to Roger Tapp's photography
Hi and welcome to my showcase of photographic images. I am a photographic artist specialising in photographing the landscape but enjoy working with a wide variety of other subject matter and particularly enjoy the travel involved.
I hope you enjoy browsing the various galleries of images. I update the site regularly so you may find it useful to add my home page to your bookmarks or favourites list.

About the photographer
Roger has been making photographs since 1980 when a chance discovery of a Zenit E in his then partner's shopping catalogue brought about an impulse purchase. Even by standards of the time the Zenit was a very basic camera but its lack of automation forced Roger to learn the basics of photography very quickly, a learning process that has stood him in very good stead ever since. After the Zenit he quickly moved on to Olympus 35mm cameras, an OM10 was quickly followed by a professional standard OM4. In 1991 he changed brand allegence to Canon with an EOS 100 which was to be his workhorse for the next 13 years until he fully embraced the digital age with a Canon EOS 300D. This was quickly followed by an EOS 20D and by the end of 2006 Roger was using a Canon EOS 5D. Now the latest update sees Roger using a Canon EOS 5D Mk II.
Joining a camera club, Abington Camera Club in Northampton (now Club Abington Photographic), also added much to Roger's speedy learning progress. In 1984 he gained the Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) and in 1987 achieved his Associateship (ARPS). He is now working on a panel to submit for the coveted Fellowship distinction.
Now a sufferer from Parkinson's Disease, Roger is determined that this will not stop his enjoyment of photography. He continues to be a prolific photographer, travelling to new locations both at home and abroad as often as possible. As well as being available here many of his "Images of Yorkshire" series can be found for sale at the excellent Old School art gallery at Muker in Swaledale. A series of greetings cards are available as well as fine art mounted prints.
